Common Worship

All Saints is committed to the use of Common worship liturgies in all of its services.

Our services follow a general pattern throughout the year, with the first Sunday in the month being a Church Family Communion,  with the Children's Groups (including Creche) joining us at the peace to celebrate Communion.

The second Sunday in the month is a service of Morning Worship, mainly an adult service, it normally allows the longest slot for the sermon, but not at the expense of various hymns, songs, canticles and prayers.

The third Sunday in the month is a service of Holy Communion, and can include laying on of hands.

The fourth Sunday in the month is an All Saints Celebration, where all of the Church Family join together for a briefer more informal service of Praise and Worship.

Our Aim is Four Fold

1. To provide worship which is acceptable to God. His standards are different from ours, so, pleasing Him, rather than ourselves, is our primary goal.

2. To have worship that reflects the very wide range of Christian experience within the congregation. The twentieth century church has a vast wealth of traditions and forms to draw on, so our aim is to enrich and experiment.

3. To have worship which is accessible. This does nor mean that we will develop worship which is simplistic, but we hope that it can be user-friendly by the way we guide you through it and offer brief explanations.

4. To have worship which is inclusive. Sorry if you want a church which leaves you alone; you honestly won't get that here because we believe Christian worship is about involvement and participation like any normal family. That does not mean that we do not leave space for silence and private reflection, but to make that the guiding principle of all worship is seriously deficient.
